What I assemble as your handyman

IKEA, JYSK, XXXLutz, Möbelix, Sconto, Bonami and furniture from other online shops.

Wardrobes & closet systems

IKEA PAX, KLEPPSTAD, BRIMNES, JYSK wardrobes and sliding doors. Levelled, hinges adjusted and anchored to the wall.

Beds & kids' rooms

Double beds, bunk beds, children's furniture. A whole kids' room is usually done in one afternoon.

Dressers, shelves & bookcases

MALM, HEMNES, BILLY, KALLAX. Dressers always get anchored to the wall – with kids around, it's a safety issue, not a detail.

IKEA & other kitchens

METOD and other kitchen systems: cabinets, worktop, sink and tap installation.

Bathroom furniture

Vanity units, mirror cabinets, tall cabinets. I can connect the basin and tap at the same time.

Office & home office

Desks, standing desks, office cabinets and shelving units.

How long it takes and what it costs

You pay for the time actually worked – no per-item surcharges. Typical times from experience:

What clients say

"

We can recommend Pepe with both hands!! We needed a cabinet repaired, which in the end required replacing a faulty hinge. He ordered it, fitted it, fine-tuned every millimetre so everything lined up, cleaned up after himself and was really lovely too 😊 We'll definitely call him again when needed.

"

I was really very happy with Mr Vejlupek. He arrived exactly on time and handled mounting a bracket on our high ceilings without any trouble. You could see he is very skilled, careful and really knows his job. Everything went smoothly and we're very happy with the result. We can wholeheartedly recommend him!

Furniture assembly FAQ

How much does a handyman charge for furniture assembly?

The minimum order is 1,450 CZK and includes the first hour of work and travel within Prague. Each additional hour is 490 CZK. Send me a list of items in advance (shop links are enough) and I'll give you an estimate of time and price.

Do I need to have tools at home?

No. I bring a full kit – cordless drivers, drill, spirit level, wall plugs and anchoring hardware.

Will you anchor the furniture to the wall?

Yes, always. Tall wardrobes and dressers without anchoring are a risk, especially with children. I choose the right fixing for your wall type (brick, concrete panel, drywall).

Do you assemble furniture that isn't from IKEA?

Of course – JYSK, XXXLutz, Möbelix, Sconto, online-shop furniture, and older pieces that need taking apart and reassembling after a move.

Do you speak English?

Yes – you can call, text or email me in English. No need for a Czech-speaking friend to translate.

Why not book assembly directly from IKEA?

You can – but with me you deal directly with the person who comes, dates are often sooner, and in the same visit I can handle other jobs too: hanging shelves, a light fitting, a curtain rail or connecting the tap on a bathroom vanity.

How quickly can you come?

Regular assembly is usually possible within a few days. In a hurry (moving in, handing over a flat)? Call me – we'll find the earliest slot, outside normal hours if needed.

A part is missing or damaged – what then?

I check the contents before assembly. If something is missing or damaged, I'll tell you straight away so you can claim it. Small missing hardware (screws, dowels) I can often replace from my own stock.

Can you take furniture apart and reassemble it when moving?

Yes. I dismantle the furniture, label the parts so nothing goes missing, and reassemble and anchor it in your new home. The removal company handles transport; I take care of dismantling and assembly.

Can you adapt furniture – shorten it, cut openings, fit an awkward spot?

Small adjustments, yes: a cut-out in the back panel for a socket or pipe, shortening a shelf or trim, a sink cut-out in a worktop. If you need furniture made to fit the space exactly, see custom furniture.

How do I pay and is there a guarantee?

You can pay in cash or by bank transfer once the work is done. Assembly comes with a 30-day guarantee – if anything comes loose or doesn't fit, I'll come back and fix it.
